Spirit Reins provides mental health services for Central Texas children and families affected by abuse, neglect and other trauma. Our programs combine traditional mental health services with innovative approaches like trauma-focused equine assisted psychotherapy. With trauma recovery the primary focus for all clients, our services provide children and youth with appropriate experiences to help them form new pathways from the lower “survival” parts of their brain to the upper "thinking" parts of their brain. These new pathways help children develop skills to appropriately control themselves, be successful in school and build healthy relationships. Our unique family-centered approach ensures the successes our clients experience during therapy transfer to real life situations at home and school.
