Highland Lakes Family Crisis Center
The Highland Lakes Family Crisis Center is a 24 hour hotline, emergency shelter, and rape crisis center for domestic violence victims - men, women, their children; and survivors of sexual assault. The Center's philosophy is based on the belief that all people have the right to live without abuse, sexual violence, or oppression. Staff and volunteers work together to help survivors by providing safety, respect, support, information, and resources so that survivors are empowered to make the best possible choices for themselves and their futures. The following services are confidential, free of charge, and completely voluntary:
- 24-hour crisis hotline for counseling, information, and referral
- Emergency shelter, food, clothing, and transportation
- Crisis intervention, advocacy, and accompaniment throughout medical and legal procedures
- Individual and group counseling for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence and their loved ones
- Information and referral to other helping agencies
- Assistance with educational and training programs for employment
- Assistance with locating, furnishing, and moving into permanent housing
- Public awareness presentations to community groups
- Aquaintance rape and dating violence avoidance programs to schools
- Outreach counseling for adults and children in Llano, Blanco, Johnson City, Marble Falls, Burnet, and Lampasas
- Recruitment, training, and management of volunteer program
